Spud

Spud

SpudSpudIn November 2008 we adopted Spud from the Dogs Trust. We’d been looking for some time for the right dog and our greyhound instantly liked Spud. We were warned at the time that he had some confidence/anxiety issues but with five minutes of meeting him he was coming to us for treats and cuddles and we just fell in love with him. The next week we signed on the dotted line to make him officially part of our family.

Unfortunately his anxiety of the outside world worsened and after 3 months he refused walks and wouldn’t even get off the front door step. He was scared of everything outside the house and garden and would be shaking like a leaf when we got the lead out. It was a very difficult time for us all but with lots of support from Eileen at Trailhound Welfare, an understanding vet and loads of patience, treats and love he now wags his tail when we get the lead out and gets very excited about walks. He’s not 100% yet as he’s still very nervous of lots of things but we’re so pleased with his progress, we’ve even started looking into training classes.

Spud is fantastic dog who is a real cheeky monkey with so much love and affection to give and an appetite and energy that’s never ending.

We feel truly blessed to have him.
