We found that it was better to leave her to come and investigate when interesting things are happening (like biscuit distribution!) rather than trying to coax her. By “Day 2 in the House she was in amongst the other dogs as if she’d always been there. Gemma knows her name well (although usual recall training rules apply!) and got on well with the others, although she was a bit bemused by the puppy. She was clean in the house over the couple of days we had her and walked well on the lead, except when there was an interesting sniff to be investigated. Gemma was quite an independent girl who was happy with her own company or with her doggy pals.

Jodie (right) is a fun loving, 2 year old with lots of energy, she loved chasing around the garden and playing with the puppy. If there was any cuddles or attention to be had, Jodie was in there pushing her way to the front. Jodie was keen to show us she was the barking hound type, making sure we knew that someone had come to the door or when she heard the dog next door. Jodie knows her name well if there is a biscuit on the go and was clean in the house during her stay as our houseguest. She clearly liked the company of the other dogs and us humans and always wanted to be with them or us. BOTH RESERVED

He is 13 momths old and has just come in for rehoming. He is a real softy who loves to clamber all over you on the sofa for some fuss and a cuddle. He is currently living with Woody and Lotty and gets on well with them. He is playful and joins in with their rough and tumble games in the field. So far, he has been clean in the house (supervised). He is good on the lead. He is so quick to learn and after a day understands SIT and DOWN, although we have yet to perfect it. He is also responding well to recall whilst on a long lead. Zak’s previous owner has said that he in fine around children, which I can easily imagine as he has a very kind nature. He has not met cats but I am sure once introduced, there should be no issues. Apparently he sometimes chews bedding and leads although I have yet to see that, I presume it may happen if he is left. This is not unusual with a young dog. With that in mind, we would expect Zak to be homed with someone who is around most of the time or able to take him to work with them, until they are able to build up leaving him for short periods. I will update info regularly whilst Zak is with me and hopefully take a video so please come back to read more about him. Zak will be neutered, vacc’d, microchipped, wormed and flea treated before he is homed. Please contact Eileen initially for more details about adopting him.

Riley likes lots of exercise and also likes his sleeps. Riley is fully vaccinated and has been neutered. Riley is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. Riley is good with children, adults and other dogs. He would be ideally suited to a rural environment. Please contact Emma Lafferty on 07976 784 995 if you are interested in offering Riley a new home. I will only let him go to a good home and to someone who doesn’t work full time. Riley is NOT being homed by Trailhound Welfare. All calls should go directly to his owner.
