Dog Games very kindly donated one of their harnesses to Trailhound Welfare to use on hounds that come in for rehoming. Dog Games Shop sells 2 types of harness, both of which can be seen in the link above, as well as a large range of other dog related items. Sam Trailhound is pictured modelling the harness at High Rigg in the Lake District. The one he is wearing is the Perfect Fit Harness in size 20mm width, MEDIUM TOP & FRONT PIECE and LARGE GIRTH STRAP. Some hounds are better suited to the 40mm width. Rannouch & Taliska find their forever home
Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

Rannouch and Taliska are 2 elderly hounds who found themselves in need of a home 4 years ago. TECKELS in Gloucestershire, kindly took them in and made it their mission to find a home that would be able to keep them together. The boys were constantly overlooked by people who thought they were too big and boisterous but all they really wanted was a sofa to call their own! They quickly became the favourites with the staff and volunteer walkers at the kennels and were moved into a luxury kennel with heating and a television to watch. Many a time, after taking them for a walk, I would climb into their kennel, snuggle down on the duvets with them and watch tv with them cuddling up! Finally, just in time for xmas 2010, a lovely lady called Heather who had recently lost her old dog, asked to adopt them. I am so glad to say, they have settled in well. Thank-you so, so much to Teckels Animal Sanctuary who loved and cherished them and to Joan who never gave up on her vision to find them a home together. Update February 2011: I went to see Rani and Tali in their lovely new home. Heather adores them and they love her. They go for lots of walks and are admired by everyone who meets them. As you can see from the photos, they love their cosy beds and are enjoying their life as pampered pooches. Update August 2011: After 8 wonderful months being loved and pampered by Heather and her family, dear Rannouch, aged 15, passed away after a short illness. He was a very special hound who was lucky to have been adopted by such a dedicated family. Heather adopted another hound a few weeks previously, called Joe, as she knew Taliska would be very lonely when Rannouch was no longer with them.
