Sunday 14th February 2010 Valentines Dog Walk in Malvern Hills - Thank-you to everyone who came on our walk at Castlemorton, on the Malvern Hills. It was a beautiful sunny day for a change! There were a total of 19 hounds, including some newly homed hounds. There were a few apologies from some of our regulars who could not make it this time. Also, very sadly, a few of our regular hounds have passed away since our last walk. Our thoughts are with everyone in 2009/early 2010 who lost their beloved trailies. Rainbow Bridge

Owing to the large numbers on the walk, most were on leads but they still had a great time. We are hoping to organise a walk later this year in the same area on a farm with stock proof fencing so that we can let the hounds have a bit more freedom. Watch this space!

Trailhound Welfare display board available in Herts/Bucks

Anne, who is one of our supporters in the Herts/Bucks area, has a compact set of display boards complete with information about adopting a trailhound. If anyone knows of an event where the boards could be put to good use, Anne is happy to lend them out. Please contact Sue initially and I will put you in touch.

Sponsors 2010

We are indebted to a number of companies who have sponsored us this year. They have donated a range of products for us to use at fundraising events throughout the summer. Please go to our SPONSORS PAGE to see who has supported us and see if you can, in turn, support them! Thank-you.

Fundraising & volunteers – we need your help!

We do regular car boot sales and tombolas to help raise funds. We are in desperate need of: books, bric-a-brac, soft toys, dog toys and dog related items. We can collect from Worcestershire and Cumbria (or anywhere in between!). Please let us know if you have anything you would like to donate. Feel free to drop off any donations at shows where we have a stall. Thank-you.

COLLECTION BOXES If you know anywhere that will take one of our collection boxes, please let us know. All money we raise goes directly to helping hounds into good retirement homes.

VOLUNTEERS  We are looking for volunteers for home checking, transport runs and fundraising events. If you would like to be added to our database please email Sue at trailhoundwelfare@hotmail.co.uk

Adding your name will not put you under any obligation to do anything if it is not convenient to you.

Danni and proud owner, Dave, flew the flag for trailhounds and Pets As Therapy at the 02 Arena and Wembley in March. Danni and Dave found each other at Harefield Dogs Trust and have an amazing close bond. They survived a car crash together and helped each other to recover over a period of many months. Hounds

Looking for a special present? Visit Mary Ann Rogers website for some beautiful paintings, prints, cards and gifts featuring hounds. They are, in fact, Border foxhounds but you can see a strong resemblance to our lean, leggy trailies!

Rannouch

Thank you to everyone who sent a donation towards Rannouch’s large vet bill. He has recovered well and remains with Taliska at Teckles Animal Sanctuary in Gloucester. Could you offer these two cuddle monsters a retirement home? More info here.
